About Lijsbet

My name is Jennifer, in the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) I am known as Lady Lijsbet van Catwiic. My persona is from late 14th century – early 15th century Holland however my personal interests range from Roman-era clothing and pottery to Elizabethan cookery and sugar paste and many many subjects in between. The purpose of this blog is to organize my thoughts, research, and progress on my various projects in the Arts & Sciences of the SCA.


The Society for Creative Anachronism is an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe. Our “Known World” consists of 20 kingdoms, with over 30,000 members residing in countries around the world. Members, dressed in clothing of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, attend events which feature tournaments, royal courts, feasts, dancing, various classes & workshops, and more.


I live in the Canton of Basingestoches (Incipient) in the fair Barony of Endewearde in the East Kingdom.
